Welcome to the UMass CS220 HW8 Caching Server

The following routes exist for your convenience. You must use them to avoid getting the entire UMass network banned. Yes, this has happened.

For more detailed usage see the HW8 spec.

cs220.cs.umass.edu/geoCoord/search

• For example: /geoCoord/search?q=Kohlscheid

cs220.cs.umass.edu/currentTemperature/forecast

• For example: /currentTemperature/forecast?latitude=40&longitude=40&hourly=temperature_2m&temperature_unit=fahrenheit

cs220.cs.umass.edu/universities

• For example: /universities/search?name=Aachen

cs220.cs.umass.edu/fetch/

• This endpoint allows students to fetch any api they want, while having the result cached by our server.
• Use this in test files or if calling very often.
• Provide the url as a query parameter called url to the route.
• For Example: /fetch?url=https://www.boredapi.com/api/activity?type=recreational

cs220.cs.umass.edu/fetch/noCache

• Sometimes api endpoints return random data. In this case we do not want to cache the result. As a convenience, we are providing. this route that does not cache.
• Do not use this route in your tests 
• For example: /fetch/noCache?url=https://www.boredapi.com/api/activity?type=recreational
